CHRISTIANITY AFTER TRUMP
Welcome to the "MAGA-JESUS!"
---- See my disclaimer at the bottom of the page ----
Churches in America are being radicalized on both ends of the political spectrum. Christianity itself is in the cross-hairs . . . Christians are damned if they do and damned if they don't . . . a great separation is coming
Not just in America, but all over the world, Christianity is going through dynamic changes. In the United States, as a result of Religious-Trump-Republicans, many kinds of "faith-expressions" will witness a restructuring--both in theological content and in praxis.
Traditional Christian views and values will be spoken against . . . seen as too "woke," and as enemies of the policies of the US government. They will be proclaimed as "anti-American," and influenced by Communism. Historic Christian orthodoxy will shrink. Time-proven Christian orthopraxy will become distorted and bizarre, faddish and experimental. I am confident in saying these things will happen--because it is already happening.
Traditional liturgies will be RE-evaluated by government officials to see if they are sufficiently compliant with MAGA ideologies.
Churches will be threatened with the loss of their tax exemption status and their properties will be confiscated unless they comply to government ideologies and "standards." The US government has done this many times in the past when deciding whether or not to grant federal funding for religious institutions, like Christian colleges, that seek federal monies for their programs and curricula that contains religious content; so a legal president already exists for it.
Further, this "hammer" is already in motion with Musk's take-over (this past week) of the government computer system that releases funding to nonprofits and humanitarian causes.
AMERICA'S COMPUTING SYSTEM WAS HACKED THIS PAST WEEK BY ELON MUSK'S TEAM. HE NOW HAS THE SWITCH TO SHUT OFF ANY & ALL AID THAT DOES NOT COMPLY WITH THE ADMINISTRATION'S AGENDA. They are "IN THE SYSTEM" and there may be no way to get him out of it.
Both Evangelicals and Roman Catholics helped to craft--and the pushed hard for these new and sweeping Trump changes (e.g. Project 2025), The did it, they say, for the preservation of so called Christian values. Many actually believe what they are saying.
They pushed VERY hard for the coalescence of power to reside in the presidency. This was an intentional attack against the balance of powers which has plagued and hindered these religious leaders for years.
Recall to mind Rev. Franklin Graham's comments during his invocation (as well as what the other religious leaders said) at the recent inauguration. I believe, if his father could see him now, that he would be deeply grieved.
These ministers' shocking pronouncement of their capitulation to the MAGA-cult was breathtaking to me. Not only for their scope of taking credit for the results of the election, but for the anti-Constitutional conflation of politics with religion...exactly what our America's founders tried very hard to prevent when they wisely gave us the separation of powers.
The notion of the separation of powers now has its head on the chopping block, and it was the right-winged religious patriots who forced this situation into being. When these balanced powers begin to crumble into confusion, remember who caused it. I wish I had the influence to persuade Americans to boycott their churches and organizations. These gentlemen, to me, are false brethren. I do like some of the social things they do - Like The Samaritan's Purse. A worthy organization. But their politics and doctrines are twisted indeed.
They cannot possibly love America the way our Founders conceived of it. They love their religious conventions (which many are actually not faithful to the life or teachings of Jesus), and they want to force Americans into conformity to their "will", not to the vision of our Founders, or to the teaching of our Lord.
What these zealots refuse to believe is that reprisals will, in time, roll back against them - against all Christians. America will not be what they had imagined it might. No one stays in power forever. No one. No one but God alone.
Christianity after Trump will be unrecognizable from, let's say, the churches of the 1950s. Even now it doesn't resemble that church anymore. Not to say that that was a perfect representation of the Faith. It was NOT. Not by a long shot. It was just as racist and "phobic" as it is now. Actually, even more so. BUT...consider this.
Add to our now politically-contaminated churches, the big-box hyper-church model, the culture-driven entertainment-addicted- big-show congregations, and we have a toxic mix of faith, politics, and the circus so noxious that the work of God's kindgom rarely be recognized beyond the spotlight sought by its celebrity-seeking marketeers who drive these secular-church-cultures relentlessly.
Hundreds of thousands of thoughtful Americans, mostly young people, have left the churches and vow they will never return.
They see the hypocrisy of its practices, the shallowness of its pop-theology, the corruption of some of it's leaders, its lack of compassion for the marginalized, and its harmful practice of promoting political lies for the sake of empowerment and cultural control. So many contemporary American churches are simply "unbelievable." They won't even police their own sexual predators, but they want to run this nation. It makes no sense.
Young people in America are afraid of what will happen when these religious leaders consolidate their powers through political structures. The only differences between these leaders and the Taliban is the country from which they rule. In practice, they are nearly identical in their vision and methodology.
But, rather than admit the distortions in today's churches from the historical Christian Faith, these church leaders just double down, crank up the volume, and push harder to make converts than before. They live according to the motto that, "There's a new generation born every five years." Fresh meat is coming.
We, in the West, who wondered how Christians were able to survive the Russian and Chinese revolutions are going to have a glimpse of the sufferings they went through.
As is Trump's style to blame his opponents for unrelated tragedies and troubles, there will be, inevitably, a time when he blames his opponents for the troubles of America, and among them will be those Christians who opposed him. They will be seen as the guilty ones, the trouble makers, the enemies of the NEW America.
This is an old practice. Blame the Christians. Blame the Jews. Blame the Muslims. Blame the witches. Blame the Communists. Blame anyone you can to distract attention from where the blame actually lies . . . on the leaders. Scapegoats are so convenient. Nero did this too, and so have dozens of other dictators throughout the centuries. It's the oldest trope in the book. The same WILL BE A REGULAR FEATURE of this president's administration.
Wikipedia states:
Christians, blamed by Nero for the fire [that burned Rome], were identified, arrested, and
killed. Some, for the entertainment of spectators, were torn to pieces
by hunting dogs, others were crucified in ways calculated to make them
look ridiculous. According to St Jerome, the total number of Christians
martyred by Nero was 979.

THERE WILL BE A BACKLASH, A GREAT POLARIZATION WITHIN THE CHURCHES, & AN ABANDONMENT OF THE FAITH BY MILLIONS
Those who have been labeled "White-Right-wing-Religious-Fascist--Nationalists" will have created such dismay in this country that anyone claiming to be a "Christ-follower" will be seen as complicit with this abhorrent movement--and reprisals will follow. Authentic Christians will be punished by BOTH sides. Like Nero who make Christians a disgusting spectacle for the masses, so many good people of Faith will be brought to ruin. Don't think that can't happen.
Those caught up in this politio-religous MAGA-cult will push for greater elitism of America and for "national purity," based on notions of "Manifest Destiny," and the God-ordained right to conquer "the ungodly" . . . in the name of God. How is that different than some extreme forms of Islam. Trump decries extremists but he is one of the most extreme among them.
This will include the incarceration of good citizens and the building of "internment camps" in Guantanamo (and maybe more, elsewhere) -- because they can justify horrific and illegal acts in Guantanamo that would be illegal on American soil. Christians, the real kind, the kind that defend the poor, the immigrant, the homeless, the refugee, the social worker, the doctors who will treat anyone regardless of politics . . . will be arrested, put in prisons, lose their possessions, have their children taken from them, exiled from America, and even put into camps. This is all VERY possible based on what is happening right now . . . if Trump gets his way.
There will be a secular church that repudiates the teaching of Christ, either outright, or on the basis that the "religious enemies of America" have mistranslated the New Testament scriptures, and the life of Christ. They are, right now, inventing for us, a different Jesus. A new Jesus. A MAGA JESUS.
These violent secular-christians will cite the employment of war and violence in the O.T. (Hebrew scriptures) as the premise and justification for their own acts of violence and terror in their crusade to vanquish "wokeness" from the shores of America.
HOWEVER:
In response to this internal conflict among churches and the state, there WILL BE authentic Christlike voices that arise--some are speaking even now--calling their secular counterparts to repent. Some will repent. Most won't. The secular Christians see themselves as the "true" Christians. Beware when anyone calls themself a "true" Christian and espouses the use of governmental power, physical force, economic coercion, military action, or violence to achieve the values of the "Kingdom of God," especially against its own citizenry. Such people are false.
